The Amelia Park Ice Academy and Little Sun Valley Skating Club are hosting the third annual Holiday Show and Skate Against Cancer at 2 PM on Sunday, December 13, 2015 at the Amelia Park Ice Arena, 21 South Broad St, Westfield, MA. Laura Kielb Vierthaler of Wilbraham, Skating Director for the Amelia Park Ice Academy, organizes this show to give skaters the opportunity to perform and also to raise money to support cancer research. Her sister, Catherine, and some friends and family have battled this disease, and she would like to be active in the fight for a cure. Take advantage of the opportunity to support a good cause and see local figure skaters highlight their talents. The show features group numbers with members of the Learn to Skate program, as well as entertaining solos performed by USFSA skaters who have competed at the local, regional and national levels.
All show proceeds will go to support Laura’s bike ride with Pelotonia, a non-profit group that organizes a yearly bike ride to raise funds for one goal – to end cancer. Because our riders’ funds are matched by L Brands – Bath & Body Works, 200% of the money raised will go directly to cancer research. No admission will be charged, but donations will be gratefully accepted. For more information, please visit either ameliaparkice.org or lsvskating.org.
